Privacy Policy

This policy covers the Earthfall browser game, Android app, online multiplayer, and Earthfall pages on MKDEV websites.

Last updated: November 2, 2026

General information only: This policy is not legal advice and has not been reviewed by a lawyer. Because Earthfall is intended for children aged 3 and older, the operator should obtain qualified South African legal and platform-policy review before publication.

1. Who operates Earthfall

Earthfall is published under the MKDEV name by its South African developer (“MKDEV”, “we”, “us”, or “our”). For privacy questions, requests, or complaints, contact mkdev4360@gmail.com.

This policy applies to the Earthfall game on the web and Android, its Cloudflare-hosted multiplayer services, and web pages that link to or serve Earthfall. It does not cover Google, Cloudflare, or other providers’ own services, which have separate privacy terms.

2. Children and parent or guardian supervision

Earthfall is intended for players aged 3 and older. Children should use the game only with a parent or guardian’s permission and supervision. A responsible adult should review this policy, oversee online play and advertising choices, and authorise any purchase.

The current game code does not verify a player’s age or include an in-game parental-consent or parental-control flow. The Android app uses Google’s consent-information flow for ads where Google indicates it is required; that flow is not a substitute for parental review or any consent required by law.

Online profiles use a player-selected display name. Please help children choose a name that does not reveal a real name, email address, school, phone number, location, or other identifying information. If you believe a child has submitted personal information, contact us so we can review the request.

3. Information Earthfall handles

Device and browser storage

Earthfall stores settings, local campaign progress, the chosen online display name, and a generated guest-profile identity in browser or app storage on the device. This lets the game remember preferences and reconnect the device to an online profile. Device storage remains until it is cleared, the game data is reset, or the app or browser removes it.

Online guest profiles and gameplay

If online features are used, Cloudflare-hosted services store a generated player ID and authentication token, the chosen display name, wins and losses, campaign progress and related timestamps, and a hash of a recovery code if one is created. We do not store the recovery code itself in the online profile. The code is shown to the player and should be kept private.

Multiplayer features also process room codes, player names, game settings and moves, match results, presence, and invitations. The leaderboard can show a display name and win/loss totals to other players. Temporary match-room records are configured to expire after four hours; online presence and invitations expire sooner. Online profile records do not currently have an automatic deletion period.

Advertising and purchases

The Android app uses Google AdMob for app-open, banner, interstitial, and rewarded advertising. Google may process device and advertising identifiers, app and ad interactions, diagnostic information, and consent choices to provide and measure ads under Google’s terms. The game requests Google’s consent information and presents Google’s consent form when required by the SDK.

Android in-app purchases are processed through Google Play. Google handles checkout and payment details; Earthfall does not ask for or store full payment-card numbers. We may receive purchase and item-entitlement information needed to provide a purchased item. Google Play’s own privacy and payment terms also apply.

Technical request information

Cloudflare provides the multiplayer service and is planned to host these legal pages. In providing those services, Cloudflare may process IP addresses, request timestamps, browser or device information, and service logs. The MKDEV website may also load fonts or images from third-party hosts, which receive ordinary request information when a browser requests those files.

4. Why information is used

  • To save or restore progress, operate online profiles, matchmaking, invitations, and leaderboards.
  • To display and manage ads, honour consent choices, and grant purchases made through Google Play.
  • To protect the service, diagnose failures, prevent abuse, and maintain game functionality.
  • To respond to privacy, support, or legal requests.

We do not require an email address or Google account to create an Earthfall guest profile. The legal contact email is used when a person chooses to contact us.

5. Service providers and sharing

We share information with providers only as needed to run Earthfall or where required by law:

  • Cloudflare: Workers, Durable Objects, and Pages hosting for multiplayer, profile storage, and this legal site. See Cloudflare’s Privacy Policy.
  • Google: AdMob advertising and Google Play in-app purchase processing. See Google’s Privacy Policy and Google Play’s terms.
  • Website asset providers: Some MKDEV pages may request third-party fonts or images. Those providers process requests under their own policies.

We do not sell Earthfall guest-profile information. We do not control how a provider uses information it receives directly while providing its own service.

6. Retention and deletion

Local settings and progress remain on a device until they are cleared. Online guest-profile, progress, and leaderboard records are kept until a deletion request is processed or the data is no longer needed to operate the service. Temporary multiplayer rooms are configured for four-hour expiry; active-presence and invitation records have shorter expiry windows.

Players can delete a Cloud Save profile from the Cloud Save screen. Deletion requires confirmation and is unavailable during an active online match. It removes the online profile, recovery-code hash, cloud campaign progress, leaderboard statistics, and outstanding invitations. The local game progress on that device remains. Temporary match-room records may remain until their scheduled expiry.

If the in-game deletion action does not work, email mkdev4360@gmail.com with the display name and enough information for us to identify the profile. Do not email your recovery code or session token. We may retain limited records where needed to meet legal obligations or resolve disputes.

Clearing the browser or uninstalling the app may remove local information but does not by itself delete an online profile.

7. Security

Online traffic uses Cloudflare’s HTTPS/WSS infrastructure. Recovery codes are stored online as hashes rather than readable codes. Information saved in local browser or app storage is not a secure password vault, and no internet service can guarantee absolute security. Keep recovery codes private and tell us promptly if you believe an account has been accessed without permission.

8. Privacy choices and rights

You can change or clear local game data through your device or browser settings. You can request access to, correction of, or deletion of an online guest profile by contacting us. Depending on applicable law, you may also have rights to object to or restrict processing, withdraw consent where processing relies on consent, or complain to a privacy regulator.

Where South Africa’s Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA) applies, contact us first with a request or complaint. You may also contact the Information Regulator of South Africa. Rights and exceptions depend on the circumstances and applicable law.

9. Processing in other countries

Cloudflare and Google may process information in countries other than the country where a player lives. Those providers apply their own safeguards and terms. Contact us if you want more information about a particular request or provider.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy when Earthfall or its providers change. We will change the “Last updated” date and, where appropriate, provide notice in the game or on the website. Continued use after an update means the updated policy applies to future use, subject to any consent required by law.

Legal notice: This is general information, not legal advice. It should be reviewed by a qualified South African attorney before being relied on or published as a compliance statement.
